Meyer Corporation is the largest distributor of cookware products within the United States. It is based in Vallejo, California, though their roots go back to 1981 in Hong Kong. And a certain Mr. Cheng is the genius behind the invention of Circulon cookware surfaces.
Manufacture of their products is still based in Hong Kong, while, the Meyer Corporation handles distribution across the States and rest of the world.
What Is Circulon?
Circulon founder, Mr. Stanley K. Cheng, has created a unique design of non stick pans. He was able to combine hard anodized cookware with a top-rated non stick surface. Mr. Cheng also came up with the idea of placing raised circles onto the surface of a pan. By doing so, these circles greatly increase the performance and durability.
The new surface he created is two times as tough as regular stainless steel pans. The Circulon’s non stick coating gives these pans an extra long life, with minimal risk of wear and abrasions.
No or next to no oil…
The other really great thing about Circulon surfaced pans is, you are able to cook with very little, or no oil at all.
Due to these facts, if you are a regular home cook, it really does make sense to invest in a set of these quality Circulon pans.
So, let us move on and take a closer look at the Circulon 80580 Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware Set…
Design
This ten-piece set of cookware pans have a striking and quality look and feel about them.
To have these pans amongst your kitchen hardware will impress you and your family and friends. They will also give you greater confidence in your cooking abilities. The pans are colored a deep charcoal gray. They really do have an air of professionalism that even Gordon Ramsey would approve of.
A rundown on what this set consists of…
You receive one half and one two-quart covered saucepans. Then there is a nicely sized eight-quart stockpot. Also, a saute pan that is three quarts in size. To finish off the set are two open skillets, one is eight inches and the larger one is ten inches in diameter. Purchase this set and you will be ready to cook anything you wish.
They are constructed with a heavy gauge of hard anodized aluminum. This gives them a bit of weight that just shouts quality. The internal surfaces are all fully coated with the durable Circulon nonstick coating and encapsulated aluminum cores. Also, the exteriors are nonstick and have an abrasive reducing ring design.
No need for kitchen mitts…
The elegantly designed cast stainless steel riveted handles are very comfortable in the hand. They also will not conduct heat up into the handle during cooking. The lids are made of the same heavy gauge construction.
A point to make here though is that the lids are not transparent. We are aware that many chefs do prefer clear glass lids, so that they can check on your cooking progress without lifting the lid and releasing heat. It is just a minor point to make and is really down to personal preference.
This set of Circulon pans can be used on all types of stovetop and yes, that includes glass and induction styles.
Chuck them in the oven, then in the dishwasher…
As well as being suitable for stovetop use, they are also ovenproof up to an incredibly high heat of 500 degrees Fahrenheit, which is a really good feature to have. Traditional dishes such as cornbread or a tasty chili beef stew, for example, need to be started on the stove and finished off in the oven. The Circulon range gives you the versatility to do this kind of cooking, without the need of the usual heavy and cumbersome style, cast iron skillet.
On a final note as to their design, these pans are all fully dishwasher friendly. So no need for any washing up, once you are done creating your latest Masterchef delight.
Nonstick Coating
Circulon pans all have a three-layer, nonstick coating. This is applied to the complete surface area, inside and out. The unique coating is resilient to scratching and abrasions.
The series of high/low concentric circles that are placed all over the internal base surface, are Circulon’s own, specially patented, food release technology. These are not just there to look pretty. The high/low ring design is very clever with what it actually does. It prevents any ingredients from being in total contact with the pan base. This evenly spreads the heat to flow and cook food equally, while of course, not sticking.
